As an Indonesian I think there are a lot of bad languages used in this movie that foreigners won’t understand.. So the foreign audiences can’t grab the emotion delivered when actors are speaking those bad words.. Gareth Evans, the Director did write the script in English and had it translated to Bahasa Indonesia, so it felt like there are dialogues that are more likely to be suitable in English than Bahasa Indonesia..
Well, despite of the language difficulties, this movie has brought Indonesian martial arts ‘Pencak Silat’ to larger audiences throughout the globe.. And I was hoping to see more breath-taking action in its sequel “Berandal”..
Good job Gareth Evans, Iko Uwais, Joe Taslim, Yayan, Ray Sahetapy, etc.

Kebangkitan film Indonesia.
Kenapa? Ya abis setiap ke bioskop atau liat website 21, film Indonesia yang sering muncul ga jauh jauh temaya dari film horror.. Dan yang lebih disayangkan, film film itu acap kali dibumbui adegan adegan untuk dewasa yang tidak mendidik.
Mudah mudahan dengan adanya film baru seperti “The Raid” ini dapat membangkitkan gairah para sineas di Indonesia untuk lebih kreatif lagi dalam membuat karya.
MAJU INDONESIA!
